Problems like this are the least of the concerns for the only symphony orchestra in Central Africa. In the fifteen years of its existence\, the musicians have survived two coups\, several crises\, and a war. Yet there is a focus on the music\, a hope for a better future.

DESCRIPTION:“Between movement and meaning. Between curly hair and African myths. Form emerges as the Vela Curl.” \nJowa Toya presents freestanding and wall-mounted objects made of veneered wood\, whose design language draws inspiration from “curly hair”—as a symbol of identity\, resilience\, and individual structure. Organic lines evoke movement\, condensation\, and dissolution\, translating hair into a minimalist sculptural language. Each object bears the name of a figure from African mythology (including Anasi Bai\, Bia\, Asase Yaa\, Eshu\, Mawu\, and Oshun)—not as an illustration\, but as a reference to mythology as a repository of knowledge about origins\, transformation\, protection\, and cultural memory.
